The Community Basketball League is excited to announce the inaugural CBL New Year Coaches Showdown, a one-day fundraising event bringing CBL coaches from across the league onto the court for friendly competition and community fun.
The tournament will take place on Saturday, January 3, 2026, at the Forks Township Community Center, utilizing Gym 2 and Gym 3. Games will begin at 12:00 PM and continue throughout the afternoon, with the championship game closing out the event.
This year’s Coaches Showdown will feature six teams competing in a double-elimination format, ensuring multiple games for each team and an exciting path to the championship. Games will be played with slightly shortened quarters while still following CBL Competitive Division rules, allowing for a full day of basketball while maintaining a smooth schedule.
The winning team will receive championship medals and the inaugural CBL Coaches Showdown Trophy. League leadership is also exploring the idea of making this a perpetual trophy, where each year’s winning organization would be engraved and return the trophy to defend their title at future tournaments.
Spectators are welcome and encouraged to attend. Admission is $5 per person, with children 5 and under admitted free. All proceeds from the event help support league operations, including insurance, officials, facilities, and program improvements.
